What is a quiet book? +
A quiet book is a soft fabric or felt activity book with hands-on tasks: buttoning, lacing, matching, opening and closing. It works with no sound, no lights and no screen, and keeps children calmly focused at home, in restaurants, in the car or while traveling.
What is the difference between a quiet book and a busy book? +
None — they are two names for the same thing. "Busy book" is the more common term in the United States, "quiet book" in Europe. Both describe a soft activity book with interactive felt or fabric pages.
What age is a quiet book for? +
From around 3 months, soft books with high contrast and crinkle sounds work best. From 1 year, simple matching and velcro tasks. From 2 years, buttons, zippers and pretend play. Our collections are sorted by exactly these age ranges.
Are quiet books Montessori? +
Quiet books are Montessori-inspired rather than official Montessori materials. They share the same principles: real, repeatable tasks a child can master independently, with no batteries, sounds or flashing lights to do the work for them.
What are Habi Kids' quiet books made of? +
Made from high-quality felt and fabric, hand-sewn. All materials are tested for child safety according to EN71. Upon request, we can personalize the book with the child's name.
Can a quiet book be personalized with a name? +

What age group are the touch-and-feel books suitable for? +
Our touch-and-feel books are suitable for children aged 0 to 5 years. Each book is designed to be age-appropriate (0–12 months, 2-5 years).
Is the book machine washable? +
Yes! All our books are machine washable at 30°C. Simply wash them in a laundry bag and air dry.
Is it safe if my child puts the book in their mouth? +
Absolutely! All materials are certified according to EN 71 and tested for harmful substances. The paints are non-toxic and saliva-resistant.
Can parts be swallowed? +
No. All elements are securely sewn and specifically designed for the child's age, so there are no small parts that could be swallowed.
